Data Displays of You
In computer science, we focused on what we would like to be known for on social media. In the beginning of the school year, I made a pie chart displaying the things in my life that I think shape me. This had all of my interests, and what I think is the most important to my life. Click here to view my pie chart. With this, I could make a fake Instagram page with pictures that represent what is important in my life and what I'd like to be remembered by. We had to put a profile picture, a bio, and 6 pictures of things that are important to me. Click here to view my Instagram.
Sheets Deliverables
In computer science we learned about google sheets and statistics. In google sheets, we learned how to operate it. I came up with a topic to display my knowledge of working in google sheets. I chose to compare the costs of owning 2 different horses (mine vs. my friends) and I wanted to see which was more expensive. Click here to view my comparing costs sheets deliverables.
How to Lie with Statistics
Next, we learned how to lie with statistics. For this, we were given a scenario, for example, it was my job to "convince" David to bring us donuts in the morning. Of course, this is not true, but I needed to collect data, and use the methods we learned about in school to lie to him. I asked a few people if they think we should get donuts to school, and then I made a bar graph. In our Ted talk, we also needed to include statistics that we used a method of lying for.
